Make every selfie look amazing

  • Remove blemishes
  • Smooth rough edges
  • Change up the background
  • Add studio lighting

You’ve got your iPhone. You’ve got your mirror. Heck, maybe you even have a ring light ready to go.

You’ve got all the gear to take a badass selfie. But once you snap a pick and take a peek, it’s … less-than-sexy

What’s going on?

The gear probably isn’t to blame here. You’ve got to become a selfie artiste! That means getting inspired and taking better selfies

Don’t crank out one more car selfie without a plan. Copy these 7 celebrity’s selfies to finally achieve your #selfiegoals.

Achieve all of your selfie goals by copying these 7 celeb selfies:

We’ve gone ahead and selected 7 awesome celeb selfies to draw inspiration from as you plan your selfie goals:

1) Gorgeous hair – Vicky Pattison

Have you seen the locks on this girl? Damn!

Vicky Pattison is giving me life with her princess hair. The loose curls give her a more natural, less-structured look that’s perfect for “I woke up like this” selfies.

Oh, and you don’t need a pro stylist to get this look, either. Copy Vicky’s look by:

  • Curling larger sections of hair, about 2 inches thick.
  • Using a 2-inch curling iron.
  • Curling away from the face, so your curls sit right for the photo.
  • Cool the curls. Don’t let them fall hot! Cool the curls in your hand before dropping them. They’ll retain their shape better this way.

2) Best makeup – Megan Fox

Megan’s makeup doesn’t look too dramatic or crazy. She uses natural colors that highlight her features without making her look like a clown.

Follow these quick tips to get the look:

  • Use natural colors. I love dramatic colors as much as the next person, but stick with chocolate brown for your eyeliner instead of jet black.
  • Choose a lighter lip color (Megan is wearing a blush pink). This draws attention to your eyes.
  • Match your foundation. Seriously. The Oompah Loompah look ain’t cute. Invest in a good foundation that matches your skin.
  • Finish with a highlighter. Megan has highlighter on the bridge of her nose and cheeks, which gives her a dewy look.

P.S. Can you believe Megan Fox took this selfie in her car

3) Coolest background – Millie Bobby Brown

Looks like the Stranger Things star took a break from Hawkins, Indiana, and took to the beach for a selfie.

Honestly, if you have a background this gorgeous, you don’t even need fancy hair or makeup. The location will do a lot of the work for you.

If you aren’t up for a trip to the sea, we don’t blame you. Still, you can snag a cooler background with mountains, fields, graffiti art, and sculptures behind you. Stroll around town to see what neat backgrounds you can find.

4) The perfect pose: Kim Kardashian

Well, I had to give props to the queen of selfies here. Kim does a lot right in her selfies, but one area she excels in is her posing.

Kim’s perfected the bedroom eyes and pout that make selfies so irresistible! She also opted for a series of poses instead of just one.

The perfect pose is possible for your selfies, too. If you can’t seem to find it, try changing your camera angles (high vs low), shooting from a different angle (straight vs the side), and looking in different directions (at the camera vs to the side).

5) Outfit on fleek – J Lo and Alex Rodriguez

Um, is there a sexier couple in all of Hollywood? I think not.

J Lo and A-Rod win the Best Dressed contest with their pre-Grammy selfie on Instagram.

Yes, they were on their way to a glitzy awards ceremony, but why not use that as a chance to snap a selfie?

If you’re already dolled up for a trip out of the house, turn it into a selfie opportunity. Snap a few pics before heading out the door to make the most of those mink eyelashes.

6) Flawless skin – Beyonce

All hail Queen Bey for her flawless, glowing skin here. When you have skin as perfect as Beyonce’s, you do the world a disservice when you don’t show it off.

This comes down to skin health and genetics, tbh. Make sure you’re drinking water, showering regularly (a skin brush will do wonders), and avoiding junk food. If you have serious concerns about your skin, swing by a dermatologist to see what’s going on.

To show off your naturally beautiful skin, try snapping a selfie outside. The lighting is much more flattering for your skin.

7) Pro-level lighting – Kylie Jenner

Lighting is probably the most important part of taking a selfie.

Instead of spending your entire paycheck on fancy indoor lights, use nature to your advantage. Natural lighting outside is much more flattering than harsh indoor lights.

Kylie Jenner made the most of the golden hour with this flirty selfie.

But watch for shadows! Try to find a shaded area if shadows are messing with your selfie. Snap your selfies about an hour before sunset to get this beautiful, glowing light that you just can’t replicate with a filter.

Brush off the cobwebs and copy the celebs

Want people to notice you online? Your selfie game has to be on point. If your snaps just aren’t coming out like you want, dig into Instagram for some much-needed celeb inspiration and your selfie goals will happen in no time.
