Let's be real: The pandemic made it tough to keep up on your beauty routine. And eye photography is not for everyone. Lockdown and restrictions have meant manicures, waxing, and beauty treatments have been almost impossible to maintain.

I know my beauty routine has taken a hit, leaving my legs looking more like Chewie from Star Wars than the baby dolphin I usually resemble. #bodyhairdontcare

Many of us have embraced at-home beauty treatments — at-home waxing kits and nail sets are selling out everywhere. But it doesn't always go to plan, and there is only so much a person can do without professional help. For example, giving yourself an at-home lash lift is more likely to result in pain than beautiful fluttery lashes. However, there is a pain-free, fuss-free, quick and easy way to give yourself perfect lashes at home: digital lashes.

That's right. All you need is a cute selfie, our selfie editor app, and some delicate fingers, and you're all set.

Curious? Here's our step-by-step guide to getting the perfect lashes at home.

Step 1: First, pick a selfie where your eyes are really visible and open it in Facetune.

Step 2: If you want to make your eyes more visible, or perhaps even change your eye color, use the Face function to retouch and edit your eyes and make them super clear.

Step 3: There are two main ways to add lashes. The first is to replicate your existing lashes. If you have some lashes visible, head to the Patch function. Select the area where you would like to have your new lashes by swiping the area just above your eye. Then move the new patch over your existing lashes to duplicate your existing lashes for a fuller, longer look.

Step 4: Alternatively, you can head to the Paint function and literally draw your lashes on. In the Paint menu, select the Picker tool. This will make the color a perfect match to your natural lashes. Then zoom in close to your eye and lightly draw in lashes. You can also darken your lash line for a thicker, fluffier look. Use the undo arrow in the bottom left corner if you make a mistake.

Just because getting a lash appointment has been almost impossible doesn't mean you can't have beautiful lashes in your photos. Best of all, adding your lashes digitally means you are totally in control of how they look. Even if you've got lash extensions and you're waiting for a top-up, fill in the holes using Facetune. Perfect lashes every time without even going to the salon!
